The legendary vocalist appears here at the Famous Door Cafe a small club where the house band was Babe Russin's. Babe Russin was one of the most prominent sax players in modern jazz, and has the honor of being one of the most recorded tenor saxophone players of all time. With a rich warm sound that would certainly fit Holiday's style, he was an in demand performer and session player. Babe recorded and performed with the biggest names of the Big Band era including Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy Dorsey, Red Nichols, and Count Basie.
